This year instead of claiming that we are going to treat our family members better and spend more time with them, let us declare that we are going to walk in love and learn from our ongoing interactions with family members.
This will allow us to learn through our examination of our responses to various situations. This helps us to grow in God’s grace and to avoid being judgmental. This helps us to eliminates the need and desire to offer negative advice (which our family members never asked for).
“Whoever brings ruins on their family will inherit only wind, and the food will be servant to the wise” (Proverbs 11:29 NIV).
