The ongoing question we can ask ourselves is Who or what are we allowing to control our thoughts and imaginations?

Yes, our thoughts are full of our concerns: workload, midterms, family conflict, bills, health issues, and unforeseen circumstances.

We must always remind ourselves not to let what we care about to drive our thoughts to turn on the mind street called WORRY.

The street called WORRY dead ends on the side street that kills steals and destroys our healthy lifestyles—driving down WORRY Street results in our dwelling on destructive distractions that keeps us meditating on past or future issues that drain our present energy states and our ambition to accomplish our current agendas.

When the suggestion to turn down WORRY Street arises, let us breathe deep, pray, seek God’s guidance, and take the mind detour that allows us to meditate on:

 

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things” (Philippians 4:8 NIV).

 

Remember, we can operate under our freedom of choice to dwell on good thoughts.
