The question we need to continuously ask ourselves is, are we actively listening through the Holy Spirit’s ears? After numerous conversations we wonder did we glorify God through our communication skill in listening. Throughout the conversation, we noticed that that there are two levels of communication. The first phase is where we give and receive information. The second phase is within the relationship where we develop trust, intimacy, and personal sharing. During the second phase, let us practice the following Christ-like listening skills:
After hearing repeat accurately, what was shared.
Maintain eye contact.
Before answering call on the Holy Spirit for guidance.
Ask God Am I listening through the ears of Christ?
“He who has ears to hear let him hear” (Matthew 11:15).
