The puppy is soooo cute. I just love my precious kitty cat. I love animals and that is why I have seven cats, two dogs, and four parrots.
We hear the above saying all the time, then we turn on the TV and see court cases where dogs have bitten neighbors and see commercials asking us to contribute funds for abused and homeless animals.
God’s word reminds us to love and care for animals, His creation.
“Whoever is righteous has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel” (Proverbs 12:10).
If we have a pet or livestock, we should care for them physically. This means as owners we need to provide appropriate shelter. This should be an area that is comfortable and safe for the animal, family, and neighbors. We need to provide food that is healthy for the animal. if the veterinary physician has stated that people food is not good for the animal, then we should not feed our pets our favorite meals. Finally, we need to provide proper grooming for our pets.
Loving our animals mean seeking God for wisdom in the area of animal maintenance. After all, God requires us to be a good steward over what He has left in our care.
