A universal human emotional response is called anxiety. This normally alert us to possible danger. We may feel it when we are stepping into the land of uncertainty (job relocation, loss of a loved one, meeting future in-laws, interview, starting school, new relationships, and job promotions).; therefore, some anxiety can be optimal for many kinds of tasks and performances. Anxiety Disorder kicks in when a person becomes overwhelmed within certain situations and circumstances on what we assumed will happen.
Types of Anxiety Disorder are:
Panic disorder- This is where one can feel terror that strikes at random. During a panic attack, you may also sweat, have chest pain, and feel palpitations (unusually strong or irregular heartbeats). Sometimes you may feel like you’re choking or having a heart attack.
Social anxiety disorder (called social phobia)- This is where one can feel overwhelming worry and self-consciousness in regard to everyday social situations. One believes that others are judging, or one feels embarrassed or ridiculed.
Specific phobias- This is where one feels intense fear about a specific object or situation, such as heights or flying. This fear causes one to avoid ordinary situations.
Generalized anxiety disorder-This is where one has feelings of excessive, unrealistic worry and tension with little or no reason.
Symptoms of Anxiety Disorder: panic, fear, and uneasiness; sleep problems; not being able to stay calm and still; cold, sweaty, numb or tingling hands or feet; shortness of breath; heart palpitations; dry mouth; nausea; tense muscles; dizziness.

What thoughts, words, and actions are we allowing to visually portray anxiety disorder? As we think about what we are thinking about, are our thoughts boxing into the fear syndrome which result in us operating from panic and believing our dreams and goals to be doomed before they even manifest? It is time we make an appointment with our Spiritual Physician and pray God’s word into our souls which we enhance our Christlike self-esteem and motivate us to travel down the road called Success in Christ.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10 ESV).
