Watching a baby take his or her first steps is exciting. Each step taking is a shorter stride than the toddler’s parents’ steps. The energy, love, and a sense of accomplishment felt by the viewers remind us that “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way” (Psalm 37:22).
As we faithfully step forward, we are reminded that we all have unique paths and roads to journey on; yet, we are to respect and worship our Creator, God Almighty. Let us look at the steps we are to take, as we remember, “by this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples” (John 15:8).
The first step we take will turn us toward Faith Avenue. The next turn we make will lead us down Virtue Pathway. At the stoplight, we will look for a street called Knowledge. After finding and receiving knowledge we will proceed to walk on Patience and Temperance Lane. We are able to maintain our sense of direction as we approach the intersection called Godliness Park and Brotherly Kindness. Finally, we end up on Charity Drive, where we serve others in Christlike love.
Let us proclaim that our steps are personal.
