To shield our physical soars from bacteria, we cover them with band aides. Children can choose to wear superhero band aides. Adults can select to wear either Cured Sensitive Skin, colorful Medca Self Adherent band aides, or “gauze band aides, a simple woven strip of material”. We can allow our soars to heal stylishly. Band aides have to be changed daily and can only cover our soars for so long, since our goal is healing. Yet, our spiritual band aides have holes and continue to reveal spiritual infections. We allow our spiritual infections of bitterness, anger, and jealousy to manifest when we refuse to mimic Christ throughout our daily activities. We show the holes within our spiritual band aides when we gossip, lie, and refuse to operate within our self-control zone. Instead of taking the time to wear spiritual band aides, let our lifestyle proclamation be “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).
