There are a lot of thoughts nesting over and residing within our minds. Some thoughts leave us fearful, doubtful, and flood our souls with feelings of sadness or depression. When we permit God’s love, reassurance, and affirmation to flood our thought process, we believe we can accomplish our goals, overcome anxiety attacks, and endure relational conflicts.
The battle within our minds originate as we meditate on what should we think about.
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee” (Proverbs 23:7 KJV).
God’s word reminds us that we are a product of our thoughts.
Our thought process is based upon our belief systems versus on the various thoughts that enter our minds. Most of the time beliefs and decisions go hand in hand when we focus, meditate, hope, believe, and led by the Holy Spirit’s guidance. There are times when we miss the mark and that is ok, as long as we acknowledge that we made a mistake, learn from it, and use discernment to avoid running on the Ferris wheel trap (continuously making the same mistakes).
Suggestive Thought Trap Avoidances:
Confirming to society-we fall in the trap that it happens to everyone. Remember “ But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9 KJV).
Coincide Role- we accept that thoughts just happen, and we have no control over what we meditate on. Remember “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4:8 KJV).
Misperceptions of thoughts-we confirm to the world’s perception that reality is the final result. The thoughts were allowed to manifest because “it is what it is”. Remember, “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 KJV).
Let us fight a good fight of faith, by subjecting every thought to God’s word.
