There are people in our lives who chose to remain within our lifestyles regardless of our decisions. At times we considered them a blessing and at times we considered them as overbearing and judgmental. At times we were discouraged, aggravated, frustrated, or fatigued, they stepped up and encouraged us and offered us prayers and their shoulders to lean on. On the other hand, there were times when they offered us constructive and not so constructive criticism or advice, which were true yet hurtful or humbling. If we remember that they are in our lives to be a blessing, we need to celebrate others by:
Praying for them daily, we celebrate their presence in our lives.
Calling them up and thanking them for their love, input, time, and friendship; we celebrate their presence in our lives.
Taking the time out to be a blessing to them (gifts, lunch engagement, etc); we celebrate their presence in our lives.
Offering them words of encouragement; we celebrate their presence in our lives.
Telling others (testimonies) about their goodness within our lives; we celebrate their presence in our lives.
Replicating (as led by God) various actions, words or deeds needed within their lifestyles; we celebrate their presence in our lives.
Celebrating others reminds us that it is not about us; however, it is about recognizing and using our God-given gifts and talents to encourage others on their journey as we celebrate their lifestyles’ accomplishments.
Let us celebrate good times with others who are celebrating.
With others we can always celebrate God’s mercy, grace and goodness within our relationships.
“So he told them this parable: What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance” (Luke 15: 3-10).
