The ringing of the doorbell initiates the thought that we have a welcome or unwanted visitor. Before greeting the person/persons on the other side of the door, we must decide if we want to be hospitable or just pretend that we are not at home.  The sound of the doorbell reminds us that interaction with others is a part of our daily activities. We were not created to live in isolation. The sound of the doorbell is a blessing since it reminds us that our hearing senses are alive and working (praise God). The sound of the doorbell reminds us that we are special (if it is not a bill collector or solicitor) and someone/people thought enough to come and visit. The sound of the doorbell reminds us that we are alive and breathing and that tomorrow is not guaranteed.

As we ponder over answering the doorbell, we need to make sure our physical appearance compliments our voice bells that proclaim love, joy, peace, and righteous living.  Why not open the door and add some music and movements by listening to Byron Weems’s music video on Youtube called Ring The Bells?
