Fair treatment is what we all want, expect, and get offended when equal opportunity is not offered. Yet, in a broken society, we should focus on God’s blessing versus trying to make others give us equal opportunity upon demand. The Scripture tells us that we have favor and highly favored. “May the favor] of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands” (Psalms 90:17). If we have favor, that means others see us favored; yet, is this equal opportunity for all man? There are times when others prosper, and we are going through. This could be viewed as not equal opportunity, if we forget that we all grow through seasons of life blessings, challenges, defeats and victories. It depends on what lenses we are looking through as we deal with the issue of equality.
The definition for equality is “the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities”. Let us prayerfully make sure that we view equality from a biblical perspective versus, self, others, and society.
