During the confinement time we are interacting with loved ones that we live with. Some of us might ask “Why can’t we all get along”? Where we had the blessing of sending our children to school, parents to adult services, and left our pets at home, for now those luxuries are on hold. If we have jobs that we love we joyfully went; on the other hand, if we don’t like our jobs, it is off to work we go for income to pay bills. Just because we get into a confrontation with our loved ones, more so during this confinement, does not mean we do not love them. We might want to stay in the boxing ring and just move into our corners (me-time) and respect and accept each other’s differences. We all are affected by COVID-19 and react to a worldwide epidemic individually yet indirectly, our actions affect others.
While sharing our confinement quarters with family or loved ones, let us try to respect and appreciate their opinions and lifestyles. For those of us who believe and engage in prayer, we might have to take on additional prayer times, for those of us who are introverts, we might have to verbally interact more. For those of us who are extroverts, we might have to practice mouth control. Let us take this time to learn more about our loved ones’ likes, dislikes, and share who we are. This will be a good time to initiate or continue family bible studies and to practice the Love Recipe.
Ongoing cups of forgiveness
7 Tablespoons of self-control
Unlimited measuring spoons of patience
20 gallons of humility
Never ceasing teaspoons of compassion.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13: 4-8).
