“Gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret” (Proverbs 1113, NIV).

We all want to protect loved ones and ourselves from the after effects of gossip.

Throughout the week, we may have heard rumors about one of our family members, that we might want to share with our family members.

How do we know when it is TIME to share the information?

  1. Know that gossip is like a ticking time bomb of rumors. It is half-truth and hurtful truth.
  2. Legitimate information can be shared when
    1. You are concerned about the person’s safety.
    2. The person whom the information is about, shares with you and gave you permission to share.

This week end, during our family time let us not gossip but engage in constructive conversations that will offer our family members words of encouragement and motivation.
