There are so many things in life that we want and need. Before we enter the world of becoming compulsionist spenders, let us take in remember that today’s transactions create tomorrow spending patterns. As the head of the household or a partner in the family spending budget, every dollar spent takes away from current or future necessities and goals. We do not want to view our cash flow from the perspective of being in a tight income box with no room to explore or invite recreational or self-preservation items.
God wants us to enjoy life; however, we must remember the Scripture’s proclamation to be a good stewardess with our time management, cash flow, and social interactions. Let us try to stay under God’s cash flow anointing by tithing, paying current bills, providing food, shelter, and clothing for self and loved ones, then incorporate items for self and family pleasures.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33).
