Spring brings about the blossoming of beautiful flowers. It is amazing how every year they return under God’s grace. The rainbow of flower colors encourage us to spend time outdoors to take in the breath-taking scenery. We often picked an assortment of flowers and placed them in a vase to be displayed within our various furnished rooms. As we ponder over the vase, we are pleased with the color coordination, shape and size. The vase is just the right size to support our arrangement of flowers.
Yet, is our physical appearance (the vase) representing our self-identity? The outward vase we are walking around in, is it able to visually portray who we claim we are while internally supporting and caring for our spirit and soul care?
Are we proclaiming with an outward smile that we love everybody; yet, inwardly we are meditating on negative thoughts about that person? Are we serving others with bitterness, unforgiveness, and or hatred? Are we complimenting others while concealing jealousy and resentment inwardly?
Let us seek to prayerfully let all of our deeds with done in love. “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love” (Galatians 5:13).
