During this time of year, we try to play doctor by adding more vitamin supplements and educating ourselves on what foods we should eat or avoid. Suggestive vitamin intake (remember to always consult with your physicians (spiritual, Yahweh) and physical (medical doctor) before adding the following vitamin supplements:
Vitamin C
Our bodies require large doses of vitamin C to ward off influenza (as much as 10,000 milligrams per day). This vitamin stimulates our bodies’ production of interferon, a chemical that helps destroy viral infections.
Vitamin B-5
This vitamin supplement is also known as pantothenic acid. B-5 stimulates the production of adrenal glands, which provides our bodies with hormones for enhanced immune system response. Found in foods such as mushrooms, rye, whole wheat bread and garbanzo beans.
Vitamin D
Your body produces this essential vitamin, when your skin is exposed to ultraviolet rays from the sun. Vitamin D can be found within the following food sources: eggs, dairy products, tuna, salmon, mackerel and halibut. This vitamin supplement enhances your immune system’s ability to produce proteins. These proteins fight disease-producing microbes.
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31NIV).
