We are so grateful to receive gifts from loved ones, co-workers, neighbors, supervisors, and strangers. It does not matter what time of day, a year or event we receive our blessings. Sometimes we expect an uncommon favor in the physical appearance of a gift and sometimes we are surprised by the goodwill gestures toward us by others.
As we examine our gift receptive motives let us make sure that we are not opening our hands to receive God’s gift blessing with an attitude of either you owe me, or I deserve this. An attitude of gratitude in humility is how we should receive our gifts. WE are not responsible or concern about how or why we are on the receiving end of blessings. The heart examination process begins with how we receive God’s blessing through gifts to us from others.
Receptiveness of gifts from us should ALWAYS incorporate:
Appreciating others’ thoughtfulness
Being grateful for the gifts
Making sure we thank God, then the parties involved
Making sure that we never take others’ generosities for granted
Staying in an attitude of gratitude
Remembering to always count our blessings
Making sure we are ALWAYS walking with the King and being a triple blessing to others.
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26)
