A part of our lifestyle includes hair care maintenance. What is hair care? When dealing with hair care, we must take into consideration the following factors: nutrition, the individual’s culture, physical characteristics of one’s hair, our selective hair styles, genetic make-up, sleeping patterns, current prescribe and over-the-counter medication we are taking, and current medical and health issues.
Within our society, our self-identity can revolve around “good hair” policy, hair texture. That is why it is so important to know who we are (individual) and what we stand for (personal and professional). As we deal with our various season of hair challenges, we must intake of foods that helps us to maintain healthy hair. Here are some suggestions, (remember to check with your Spiritual Physician (SP) and your Medical Physician (MP) before adding food or supplements into your current health care if you are under a doctor’s care, just had surgery, or taking medication prescribed by your physician): vitamin and minerals-calcium, chlorine, fluorine, sulphur, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, and sodium. These supplement within a healthy balance (check with your SP and MP) can help us maintain healthy hair by combating deterioration, disease, and illness. Also, ongoing consumption of fruits and veggies will provide the fuel needed to maintain hair strength. Please note that fruit are high in a healthy natural sugar; therefore, if you are a diabetic, please check with your Medical physician and dietitian before adding fruits.
Styling our hair to glorify God, to reveal our personality, character, and physical appearance, and our self-image are very important; therefore, if we do not know what hair styles to wear, we need to prayerfully seek guidance through hair stylist to avoid hair damage. Make sure we are maintaining hair basic (self-taught or through professional stylist), such as weekly shampooing, daily comb-out, ongoing conditioning, and cautiously blow drying and flat iron if one chooses too.
Our hair care and styles can attractively be manageable and reveal our spiritual and physical beauty, which will be transparent through our unique hairstyles, radiant skins and healthy body images.
