We do not feel like being bother by the following external sounds, news media, family voices, employers’ dictatorships, loud music, or traffic sounds. We put on our selective headsets. This will allow us to hear and meditate on what “we choose to hear”. Yes, headphones can rescue us from unfamiliar sounds, unwanted sounds, and constructive sounds needed for survival. Before wearing our headphones let us check our reasons for avoiding external sounds.
Headphones are beneficial when we are preparing for professional or personal assignments. Headphones can help us channel into soothing music in preparation for relaxation and meditation. Wearing headsets are good when traveling, exercising, and waiting as we listen to God’s word.
On the other hand, emerging in the solitude of headphones can be damaging to our spiritual growth when use them to avoid constructive criticisms, family commitments, career obligations, church fellowship, and being witnesses of our faith.
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28: 19-20)

Speakers
The atmosphere radius from the energizing music that proclaim loudly the tunes, notes, lyrics and radio voices of our selections of sounds. We can turn on the station and broadcast as loud as our listening devices can manage. For some of us we enjoy loud music, the louder the better even at the risk of our hearing. For others we love quiet low-key music in order to soother our soul and to remain in a mindful state. Whatever the reason for adjusting our speakers, we should make sure we are glorifying God through our speaker outputs and relational situations. In order to hear from God, we need to be mindful of music listening to from our speakers and sound range. At times God speaks to us through a quiet gentle spirit.
“And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; [but] the LORD [was] not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; [but] the LORD [was] not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; [but] the LORD [was] not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. And it was [so], when Elijah heard [it], that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, [there came] a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?” (1 Kings 19:11-13).
If our speakers are too loud, we can miss and an opportunity to witness to others who are judging us by our loud music.
Check God’s speakers before turning up our speakers.
