This is the season to be Jolly. Fa la la la is the joyous tune we are proclaiming and hearing throughout the shopping malls. As Believers, our season greetings influence and reveal our loved walk in Christ. As worshipper and followers of Christ, our holiday spirit will radiant the atmosphere through our acts of services, which are overflowing from the fruit of the spirit: love joy, peace, gentleness, meekness, kindness, forbearance and self-control. As we interact with others’ faith practices, our communication skills should not be focusing on converting, shaming, or manipulating others to accept the Salvation Plan. We should “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). As we celebrate this breath-taking holiday season, our lifestyle actions, words, and deeds should:
Recognize the amazing birth of our Lord and Savior as holy, pure, and the beginning of our redemption process.
See others through the eyes of Christ.
Focus on loving and serving others versus being caught up in the gift exchange, pastries, and social events.
Focus on Mary’s baby boy’s redemption versus the monetary items received.
Focus on relationship building versus engaging in isolation picture and text messages based on “me, myself, and I”.
Jesus Christ was born to reconcile man to God; therefore, our holiday slogan should be to “proclaim who and what the birth of our Savior means and how we can represent Jesus within our holiday choices and celebration.
