Who gets excited, when they hear the word “homework”? With learning opportunities comes the need to include homework within our daily agendas. This word can be a blessing, when we see it as a way to enhance our wholistic lifestyles, spirit, soul, and body. First, if we proclaim that we are followers of Christ, then homework is needed as a learning tool, to remind us to meditate and study His word, so that we can be authentic followers of Christ. We are to “be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and fiddle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer” (2 Timothy 2:15-17, NKJV). Next, we need to maintain soul care (mind, will, intellect, and emotion), by walking by faith and not by our emotional states. “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7, NLT). Finally, Our physical bodies must glorify God, since His word reminds us “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have form God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, NKJV).
