It is ok to admit when you do not feel like doing something, seeing someone, or attending an event. Life is challenging and adventurous.; yet, we must deal with the feelings and move forward. The first suggestion is to ask ourselves, why don’t we feel like it? Is it because we are just overworked and underpaid (smile)? Is it because we are just tired and need to recuperate? If this is the situation, the solution is to rest, relax and enjoy doing nothing. If our bodies are the temple of Christ, we must make sure that we are taking the time to rest, to exercise, to eat healthy, to take ongoing educational courses, and to enjoy our surroundings and relationships. If we are dreading going to work, attending school or meetings, or interacting with others, we need to check our emotional state and feelings about the person, place or thing. If we just don’t like the person, let us make sure we are not being judgmental or focusing on the negative traits of the person place or thing. On the other hand, if the event or person we are meeting goes against our biblical values then we need to seek God on how to deal with the situation. We must remember that every interaction with others open the witnessing opportunities door. We are to walk by faith and not by sight and we are to be led by the spirit and not by our feelings. Yes, it is ok to acknowledge how we feel as long as we do not allow our feelings to lead and guide our choices away from God’s Divine Wellness Plan for our individual lifestyles.
“Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered” (Proverbs 28:26).
