“I’m dreaming tonight of a place I love even more than I usually do and although I know it’s a long road back. I promise you. I’ll be home for Christmas. You can count on me. Please have snow and mistletoe and presents by the tree. Christmas eve will find me where the love light gleams. I’ll be home for Christmas, If only in my dreams” (Lyrics: I’ll Be Home For Christmas by Michael Buble).
Around this time of the year, we appreciate being around love ones and looked forward to seeing them and celebrating Jesus Christ’s birthday.
Yet, for some of us, this Christmas we will missed spending time physically with the family member who are no longer with us, the youth who are not able to come home from school during the holiday break, friends who have relocated, and broken relationships due to divorce, disagreement, or hurtful actions.
There is HOPE in Christ.
For whatever reasons we are separated or distant from a loved one, friend, associate, co-worker or neighbor, let us make sure it is not because WE CHOSE to walk in unforgiveness.
Let us let “Christmas eve” find us “Where the love light gleams” in the present of the Virgin Birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2: 11-14 NIV).
