As we continue to look for Jesus throughout the Christmas season, can we taste and see Him in the candy cane?
It is shaped like a shepherd’s crook.
The Good Shepherd walked among us during this holiday season.
The red stripe represents the Messiah’s shed blood for our sins while the background reminds us of His purity.
The Scripture tells us how Mary’s baby boy grew up and was led like a lamb to the slaughter (Isaiah 53:7) and by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
The candy cane has a delicious peppermint flavor and reminiscent of hyssop, which reminds us that Jesus came to heal our sicknesses and diseases and to purge us of sin ( Psalm 51:9)
O Come let us adore him, Christ , the Lord.
Enjoy your candy cane
