The pigment level within one’s skin can result in keloids implementation after scars, surgeries, and tattoos. Keloids “are raised reddish nodules that develop at the site of an injury. Keloid can be seen on various parts of the body: upper chest, back, legs (wherever you place tattoos or had surgeries), behind the ears from ear piercing, insect bites, pimples and after surgical procedures. It has been reported that Keloids “occur in about 10%” of the population.
Keloid preventions can be applied for 23 of 24 hours within a day by using pressure dressing, silicone gel pad or paper tape over the injury site. This can be done a month after healing process of the wounded or injury areas. Upon the formation of the keloid, they can be painful, enlarge size and can be treated through cryosurgery (freezing) steroid injection. By injecting long-acting cortisone (steroid) into the keloid, the keloid may become less noticeable and flat.
