Within the United States, Decoration Day (Memorial Day) is a federal holiday in remembrance and honor for people who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Normally this yearly holiday is observed on the last Monday of May, even thou it has been observed on May 30, from 1868 to 1970. For a lot of us, we are excited to celebrate the holiday since we believe this day officially starts our summer vacation season in the United States. YAHOOO!!!!
We are truly grateful and thankful for all the men and women who have served our country and our families. We missed our loved ones and hope and pray that all of them knew our Lord and Savior before their earthly transition into spiritual eternity.
The question to ask ourselves is what Memorial Day Thoughts (past choices and decisions made) are we pondering over and permitting to control our current day lifestyle choices? Since only God is omnipresent and remains constant through our time, we cannot go back and erase or change bad choices, hurtful relationships, financial misfortunate, or health challenges. We can CHOOSE TO “press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). We can do this by:
Owning up to our past decisions and outcomes.
Learning from our past.
Accepting this reality check-up.
Trusting God to help us make Christlike choices.
Refusing to go backwards.
Testifying of God’s mercy and grace in spite of our past outcomes.
Remember
God makes all things beautiful in His Time
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end” (Ecclesiastic 3:11).
