Men

Men let us not engage in self-destructive behavior. We are the head of the household. We tend to focus on being a good provider for our loved ones. At times, we try to figure out how to make ends meet within our reasoning before seeking God’s guidance.

We make up 75% of suicide victims. We tend to keep things inside versus seeking God’s help. We live in our little world, which results in feelings of isolation.

We can get help from our creator. First, we must humbly admit we need help. Second, we must tell God about it. Finally, we must check out Christian Man Therapy or wherever organization the Holy Spirit is leading us to get help from. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 ESV).

Women

We wear so many hats: mother, wife, student, daughter, career, community. Instead of slowing down, chatting with God, saying no, we might slip into depression or have an anxiety attack. Good mental health is important for a woman in order for her to maintain a healthy lifestyle: spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, vocational, financial, and psychological.

What are some good mental health practices? We must eat healthy meals. We should engage in aerobic/cardiovascular activities and strength training. Alternate our fitness agenda with Yoga or Tai Chi. Our monthly agenda includes Spa days, me-time, shopping (watch your budget), and saying no. Remember, God’s peace is within you, regardless of how many hats you are wearing tomorrow.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid (John 14:27 ESV).
