We are always multi-tasking. We find ourselves proclaiming: we need to do this; what do we need to do this evening; we wonder what tomorrow will bring. All of these thoughts, ideas, and concerns bombard our minds. If we stop to meditate on what we are thinking about, we will realize that we are not enjoying the MOMENT, right now. If we truly want to maintain our wellbeing, health care sanity, enjoy the moment while avoiding self-inflicted and others’ inflicted stress placed upon us, we need to “enjoy where we are on the road to where we are going” as expressed by Joyce Myers.
How do we become and maintain a state of mindfulness? It is living in the moment. It permits us to remain in the NOW while we dissect our thought patterns, automatic behaviors, and lifestyle choices. This will energize us to take control and responsibility for our thought patterns, character, attitudes, personalities, words, actions and deeds IN THAT MOMENT.
As we enter this mindful state, let us be still, calm our spirit, take several deep breaths and experience the moment in relation to our self-identity and awareness of who we are and whom and what we represent.
Mindful thought process can include but not limited to us becoming and maintaining awareness in the areas of: thoughts, sensations, emotional states, physical changes, and Living holy while me make daily lifestyle choices.
“Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day” (Psalm 25:4-5).
