Paid Off

By April 22, 2019No Comments

“I hear the Savior say, thy strength indeed is small; Child of weakness, watch and pray, Find in Me thine all in all. Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow” (Jesus Paid If All lyrics by Kristian Stanfill).
We all jump for joy, celebrate, and praise God when we have finally paid off all credit cards, student loans, and IOU notes. We energetically dance when our mortgages are paid off, we received a clean bill of health, and we had a pleasant peaceful day at work or school.
What a sense and a feeling of relief we have knowing that we owe no man anything except loving services.
Dictionary.com paid off definition-to pay all of debt, the final payment.
As we look back over our lifestyles and ponder over future choices, challenges, accomplishments, and setbacks we can honestly proclaim that within our own strengths we will endure mood swings, disappointments, accomplishments, gossipers, backbiters, motivators, haters, and supporters not so successfully.
If we remember that Jesus Paid It All, we can accept, appreciate, and respect our uniqueness in Christ. We will be able to respect, yet not necessarily accept others’ lifestyle choices. We will enjoy who we are (in Christ) and celebrate small accomplishments as we continue to pursue the “Me we want to be In Christ”. This is all may possible as we remember the Good in Good Friday, which was the reason for the Messiah’s freedom of choice to be crucified.
“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!” (Romans 5: 6-10 NIV).
