“Silent night, Holy night,
All is calm, All is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Sleep in heavenly peace” (Lyrics from song Silent Night).
Sleeping in heavenly peace, revolves around our soul state as we lay down to rest.
Before we can rest in peace, we must meditate and examine our thoughts.
If our thought patterns are dwelling on this morning’s disappointments, then our dreams might rerun the disappointing events.
If our focus is on what we need to accomplish tomorrow, then our thoughts will incorporate high anxiety and stress levels from meditating on strategies for tomorrow’s agenda.
If our thoughts are pondering over the fear of confronting a situation, then our emotional state will remain within fear zone and causes us to remain a wake pondering over the “What If Syndrome”.
The quickest way to “sleep in heavenly peace” is to quote this Scripture until we fall into a peaceful sleep “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3 KJV).
