“Silent night, Holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight,
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing alleluia;
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior, is born!” (lyrics from the song Silent Night).
It is a blessing to be informed that a baby was born. We as parents have a child to love, cherish, and raise in God’s grace. As grandparents, we have a grandchild that we can pamper, motivate, and encourage him or her to mimic Christ. As a sibling, we have inherited a new sister or brother that we love, respect, and appreciate his or her uniqueness in Christ. As a relative we have another family member to accept into our family with love.
As we remember the birth of Christ the Savior, we can shout for joy as we think of the various benefits we have inherited as children of the Highest King.
We are no longer slaves to sin.
We can walk in prosperity.
We are a royal priesthood.
We are the righteousness of God.
We have overcome the world’s trials and tribulations by the blood of the Lamb and the words of our testimonies.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9).
