Relationships are important. Family security on God’s list is number two.
“Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever” (1Timothy 5:8 NIV).
ALSO
“If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?” (1 Timothy 3:5 NIV).
Self-Care through family-care means:
Managing our household activities well through house chores and budget.
Setting boundaries to protect family time.
Using the word “NO” to maintain family security.
Separating church ministries from family ministries.
Accepting support through networking groups that are trustworthy.
Remember, self-care can be accomplished as we maintain our vertical relationship with God and horizontal relationships with family members and friends.
