The week end is here. We are looking forward to engaging in social activities with our family members, friends, co-workers, church families, and associates. At these gatherings we will encounter sweets, sweets, and more sweets. Our favorite foods, desserts, new sugar filled snacks will be available for us to try. How can we not become members of the sugar crash committee?
Let us make sure we do not attend any social gathering hungry. We must eat healthy meals (breakfast, lunch and if possible dinner).
Plan a head. Before attending the events, know our food limitations, portion control, stress levels, and how many events we plan on attending.
Within our spiritual lifestyles we can avoid sugar crashes by:
Avoidance of unnecessary stressors (when possible): Seeking the Holy Spirit on guidance on how to know and prepare for people, places or things that causes aggravation and increases our stress levels.
Self-Identity: Before we attend events, let us make sure we know who we are in Christ; therefore, we will not be intimidated or prideful. We will be able to enjoy ourselves in the Lord.
Interactions with others: We will make sure we are wearing the Whole Armor of God (Ephesians 6: 10-18). We will serve others from the fruit of the spirt versus self. We will not take things personally and see everyone through the eyes of Christ.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5 NIV).
