This nursery rhyme we learned as children and teach our children encourages us to stay physically fit and maintain physical appearance. Throughout our lifestyle choices we get turned around by financial obligations, preparation for school exams and work deadlines. We feel like touching the ground when hit by unexpected health awareness, death of a loved one, or dealing with stressful relationships. We are always tying our shoes, when we have to step out on faith and enter areas we have never seen before. We always want to shout that will do when being persecuted, being embarrassed or just want a change of scenery.
Regardless of what is going on, we can always proclaim to ourselves and children that “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
