“Teddy bear, teddy bear,
Go upstairs.
Teddy bear, teddy bear,
Say your prayers.
Teddy bear, teddy bear,
Turn out the light.
Teddy bear, teddy bear,
Say good night” (Lyrics to the nursery rhyme, Teddy Bear).
As we continue to teach or sing along with the nursery rhyme Teddy Bear with our or neighborhood children, we can encourage them to spend time with us in the upper room when we recite “Teddy Bear, teddy bear go upstairs” This will encourage them to listen to bible stories, play video games, engage in drama activities about our Awesome God. As we continue reciting the nursery rhyme, “Teddy Bear, teddy bear say your prayers” we can enter into prayer with them for their daily bread, protections, and ask them to pray for their special requests. The nursery rhyme might sound like a creative rhyming song; however, it can be used to illustrate God’s wonder working power in reaching children with a rhyme. In God’s Kingdom there is a time for everything.
“A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing” (Ecclesiastes 3:4-5).
