“love your neighbor as yourself (Matt. 22:39).
The “Golden Rule” is the heart of living a successful productive lifestyle in Christ. The rule simply proclaims, love is the reason for our services, and a key component for our actions.
Our expression of love reminds us of God’s redemption love for us and how we are to reciprocate it towards others. This love walk in Christ sounds simple; however, it can be complicated and nearly impossible for us to mimic when we operate from a defensive self-care approach. This is when we protect ourselves from others’ negative responses toward our expressions of love in the areas of work overload, conflicts, projects rejections, and family conflicts. The “Golden Rule” lifestyle becomes bearable when we live out serving others in humility, patients, kindness, and self-control (Gal. 5: 22-23).
Love along with appealing to one’s emotional side and practical side encourages one to “always seek to do good to one another and to everyone” (1 Thes. 5:15). The following quality are necessary for Christlike performances towards others: justification, righteousness, and ongoing radical actions for others good. Productivity manifest within the balance between one’s doctrine (belief) and practice (lifestyle).
Serve in Love.
