It is always exciting to start a new plan, buy a new car, or start a new job. It is more exciting to complete a project, graduate from elementary and high school. We celebrate paying off our mortgage and car note, credit cards, and student loan.
The challenge begins when we are transitioning from buying new car to paying off the note, graduating from high school and enrolling into college or the job market, and announcing our pregnancy to having the baby.
The in between time is known as The Middle Journey. Our biblical characters help us to understand this journey a little better. Joseph had a dream that did not manifest until he went through betrayal and prison time. David was anointed as king; however, kingship did not initiate until he killed the giant and received a death threat from Saul.
As we look back over our lifestyles, we can see the various detours that helped us move forward into our destiny, this season. Every obstacle, every disappointment, and detours are in His plan to help us reach our plan in Him.
“Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God” (1 Peter 1: 18-21 MSG).
