The Waiting Game
Most of our lifestyle is locating in the waiting room. We wait nine months to be born; we wait to receive our weekly paychecks. We wait to transition from kindergarten into elementary school, then into middle school, high school, and choose either enter the career world, enter a trade school, and enter college and graduate school. We wait to receive a newborn baby notification, a wedding invitation, church membership, political leaders, health report, loan disbursement, etc. The waiting game is not an option; however, how we choose to wait is.
As we continue to enter the waiting zone, let us choose to use this time wisely. First, let us be thankful for the opportunity to wait on God’s answers to our situations, circumstances, and relationships. Next, let us make sure that our waiting is not in vain through our thought process. Check out our thought process and determine to meditate on “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4:8). If Scripture is not a part of your motivating thought lifestyle, then focus on what works for you and your faith values.
