The way I think, feel, and interact with others determine who I am?
In order for me to pursue my dreams and goals, I need to know, learn, and accept my Wholistic lifestyle (sprit, soul, and body). I need to understand who I was in my past life experiences. For example, did I learn my identity through family interactions (throughout my toddler years, childhood, and young adulthood). Thinking about my family, friend, and coworker relationships, I should ask myself the questions:
How was my relationship with parents (if raised by them)? Were our relationships encouraging, motivating or depressing and dehumanizing?
How was my relationship with my siblings, cousins, friends, and neighbors? Were our relationships pleasant, supportive, friendly or filled with jealousy, animosity, and competitive?
How were my relationship with co-workers, supervisors, and church family members? Were our relationships inspiring, pleasant or stressful?
Regardless of our past relationships and experiences, we do not have to permit them to dictate our future.
