As we ponder over the word worthy, let us relate it to the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Who is worthy to be a part of our social interactions? Before we can answer this question we must take a self-evaluation of our attitude. We need to make sure our interactions skills are rooted upon the fruit of the spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23). As we communicate with others (family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and strangers) we need to speak words of love, radiate in God’s joy, offer Christlike peace, serve others in kindness, and from a good heart, and gentleness. Finally, our words, actions and deeds towards others should resemble our faith declaration while illustrating self-control. Our self-control should take into consideration our current tolerance level in relation to people.
